I realize I keep showing apartments around Stockholm, Sweden – and of course that is not my only goal. Not everyone wants to move to Sweden :). Just to clarify, I am not sponsored by Sweden – but, I was born there and in my opinion they certainly know a thing or 2 about design! So I can´t help myself.
Today, I am showing you another fab townhouse (just sold, so if you r the lucky one – congrats!). This apartment is spot on when it comes to creating the perfect mix between cold and warm, classic and modern. Perfect twist all around! Sure, there is not much color to speak off and of course its perfectly “staged” (with no signs of kids :)) — but, I live in this gray, white and natural bubble – so of course I appreciate the basics here …
There are many on going discussions about gray kitchens (the new white) – should I go light, medium or dark gray? White has been popular the last X years (and of course white is classic and always a good choice) but for most that have had that in their last homes – tend to want something new, the next new thing and gray being that color now. Gray has probably been “trendy last 3 years… – but then there are many different gray tones and not all of them work. Picking gray kitchen cabinets is much harder than going for “just” white… trust me, I know.
However, I do think in this apartment the darker gray makes it interesting and fits well with the overall look + design. I am not as convinced it would fit as well in our summer house. In the long-run I think the lighter and warmer tone works better there but I might be wrong and old-fashioned here…? I am first to admit, its not easy *luxury problems 🙂
To pull this dark, sort of charcoal gray color off – the key is mixing it with a lot of white and light colored wood floor. This gray is in my mind a modern but yet a sophisticated tone. Of course the cool industrial masculine stairs helps and picks up the exact color and on top of that ads a studio look that never fails…
Adore adore the big windows! Wish I would have added more of them in our summer place! After all, you can never have to many windows….
I am all for the natural, down-to-earth tone vibe in bedrooms. Makes it relaxed and calm. Key ingredients for me when decorating a bedroom. No drama, not too many contrasts…. again, prefer it calm, smooth and au naturelle! Nighty nighty!

Have a wonderful Sunday. I myself plan on catching up around the house but also plan on heading out for dinner with my beautiful daughters – we are celebrating a little tonight!
